Prophet Muhammad's (SAW) Last Sermon

This Sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat
"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I don't know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (Interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived...

Beware of Satan, for your safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have right over you. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and comitted helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to commit adultery.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadhan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to. You know that every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. You are all equal. Nobody has superiority over other except by piety and good action.

Remember, one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not astray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Qur'an and my example, the Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me direcly. Be my witness oh Allah that I have conveyed your message to your people."

Agneepath Series!!!

What does Agneepath mean? "Path of fire???" Well whether or not Indian Cricket team is able to walk on fire, but I am burning with fire...you may call it anger or "Kolaveri" to be on the same side of the world...

Why are Indian team sometime so deplorable? (A proper question could be How can they be?)
After having so many hopes and faith on them they shouldn't be playing such bad and getting cursed from their countrymen and fans.
I have never been such critical with the Indian team. There was a time when even if 4 wickets fell I used to think that the match is all but over. But that has changed now...We won the world Cup, T20 cup, we were no.1 in Test for almost 2 yrs...  Indian team with no fighting spirit is a thing of past. We have learnt how to win a game out of nowhere. I have mastered myself to believe that even if 2 wkts are left we can chase 50 odd runs left. We do not succumb to pressure anymore.
Call it madness or whatever I even believed that India's tour to England (July-Sept '11) and its 4-0 drubbing was nothing more than a nightmare. And I knew that the team will wake up from that bad dream. After the home series against WI everybody was eagerly waiting for the series downunder (The Agneepath series). For me it was a kind of festival.
Boxing day test: Fighting and keeping the Test in balance for the 1st 3 days gave me joy, but unexpectedly Indians lost the match from nowhere in just two sessions after gifting Aus a healthy 4th wkt partnership after reducing them to 27/4....All is still well as we all know that Indians are poor starter. But this raises many questions. Why such a bad perfromance by Gambhir in the 2nd Test then? What happened to Laxman? Dhoni, why have you become so defensive? How can you score only 191 when you chose to bat first and you have some of the best batsman in the world? What's wrong with Kohli? How can you let Aussie build partnerships when you take their 1st 3 wks for some 20 runs? Well that may not be answered and even I dont want any answer.
I only want my team to perform well. I want my team to fight. I want them to show their real capabilites. I have high hopes on them. I don't want them to take me back to the team of 1990s and starting 2000s. I have had enough of them. I believe on my present team. I know they can do well than how they are presently performing. So please do well.......
I write this just before the start of 3rd days play. Australia is leading by some 290 runs in the 1st inn and still have 6 wks left. On a funny note Clarke is leading the whole Indian team's run by 60 run. A neutral guy would say Clarke would score a triple hundred and India will lose by big margin if not Innings defeat.
But I as a hardcore Indian fan still believe that Indians will turn the table around given the batting line up they have. I hope they replicate the feat they achieved in Eden Garden in 2001. All the best and good luck! "Aal is well!!!!!"

Revolution 2020

"Because enough is enough"
What do you say about the society whose top leaders are the biggest crooks? What do you do in a system where almost anyone with the power is corrupt? India has suffered enough. From childhood we are told India is a poor country. Why? There are countries in the world where an average person makes more than fifty times that an average Indian makes. Fifty times? Are their people really fifty times more capable than us? Does an Indian farmer not work hard? Does an Indian student not study? Do we not want to do well? Why, we then doomed to be poor? ( Don't laugh at my self-indulgent)
This has to stop. We have to clean the system. Che Guevara, the great revolutionary once said, "Power is not an apple that falls from the tree in to your lap. Power has to be snatched from the people who already have it." We have to start a revolution, a revolution that resets our corrupt system. A system that shifts power back into the hands of the people, and treats politicians like workers, not kings.
Ofcourse, this won't happen overnight. This won't happen until the real sufferings begins. As India's young population increases, we will need more good colleges and jobs. Soon, there will be not enough colleges. I want it to happen by the year 2020 and so call it Revolution 2020. The movement that will finally shake the muck of India. 
When the internet will connect all colleges across the country.
When we will go on strike, shut down everything, until things are fixed.
When young people will leave their classes and offices and come onto the streets.
When Indians will get justice and the guilty will be punished.
And it will begin with "YOU"

The above paragraph is indeed taken from the book "Revolution 2020" by Chetan Bhagat, with little modification. But I wanted to convey my thoughts and his words were appropriate. I always feel proud about my country. It really has some charm in its simplicity, its nature, its common man. But I have questions against it too (which is obvious).
Why don't politicians give direct answer to common man's question?
Why don't the post of politicians have an educational criteria? Is age the only factor to become a politicans?
When will I hear "India is a develop country"? Its been more than 60 years of Independence. Our forefathers use to say we are developing country, then our grandfather and our father and now us. Does it take so long to become a developing country? Its like Bangladesh playing in Test Cricket. We don't want draws. We want victory.
When will I stop hearing this " Yeh India hai, yahan aisa hi hota hai, iss desh ka kuchh nahi ho sakta???"
Don't we have self respect? Can't we take a broom and clean our own place? Can't we be much tougher? I know it all begins with me. But alone we may not survive. Unity is strength. If not all then we youngsters can definitely do something about it.
How about starting with a "sacrifice"? We can do much better if we can sacrifice our time. If we can sacrifice our pleasure. Sacrifice to make India a better place to live in. If all of us sacrifice then an individual's sacrifice will be less and he will not feel it. DO something about your country buddy. I know you can do it. I know we all Indians can do it. I have seen it. It was during the "World Cup Cricket 2011" We all gathered to support our very own country. And our support showed. We won the Cup. We all got together, celebrated . We shared our joys, and yes we sacrificed our work to take India to glory. that is the sacrifice we need to make, but for a longer period. Start thinking about it. I know this country have been inflated a lot and it will burst any moment. Be prepared for that moment.

My first two months in Mu-Sigma

So far so good, was my response to everyone from the moment I put my foot in Bangalore. Questions ranging from how is the Office? how is Bangalore? how is your accommodation? got the same answer "So far so good". And I must say that that "so far so good" phrase has been changed to "I am quite enjoying it". The day I came here I was very much tensed to face the new world ahead me. Mu-Sigma was very gracious enough to give me accommodation in a luxurious Ginger Hotel for my 1st 15 days of stay in Bangalore. A new place and no one to depend upon and add to that me being shy didn't find me any new friends on the first day. The next day I had to reach Mu-Sigma at 8 in the morning. Office fortunately was very near to Ginger Hotel. The formalities started and continued for a couple of days. Short journey shorter, I will explain it in a few bullet points.

• MSU

The concept of MSU (Mu-Sigma University) is really very fascinating and interesting too. Mu-Sigma boasts of having extensive trainers to train their freshers . These trainers were freshers too few months or years back, means what they are teaching is what they are learning. It may happen that if you are working in Mu-Sigma, a year down the line you may be told to teach MS Excel to freshers. MSU covers subjects like working in SAS software, MS Excel, Statistics and SQL for over a period of month. I must say that this is very short a duration for all these subjects to complete but this is how Mu-Sigma works! MSU focusses mainly on mock project which we were needed to do during our MSU training. The effort I put in this project was hundred times the effort I put in my final year project in the University. The training ends with an evaluation test of each subject and presenting the mock project to the MSU principals and the mentors.

• Workplace

Mu Sigma never sleeps. The light in Mu Sigma never switches off, the door doesn't closes, there's always someone or the other in the office whether its 2 AM or 11PM, Thursday or Sunday, national holiday or international holiday. I feel to be lucky when i get to hear from my colleagues that they have crossed midnight working in the office, while my recorded leaving time is 10.45 PM so far. People stay late during their training period when they are learning new things or when they have deliverable to make. Business for Mu Sigma is growing, lots of work is coming in, 100s are being recruited every month hence the pressure is also building up to match up with the expectations. As far as I am concerned I am quite liking the work. It goes with my attitude, with no interest in programming I thought Mu Sigma would be a place for me but surprisingly we have to write SAS codes here also with concepts of OOPs in it. Seniors are friendly and quite helpful in attitude. People here are from different background so conflicts in nature also prevail but not so open. I hate to hear that "F" word every now and then. It seems that Mu Sigma has some patent for it. Other than that English is the communicative language. Overall the workplace is enjoyable.

• Fun Friday

I eagerly wait for Friday to come. TGIF and the next day starts weekend and with it comes some rest. What rest? If I sit and calculate the amount of sleep I have during my weekdays is far greater than what I have during weekends. Friday is the day when every vertical (we have diff verticals like Technology, Retail, Pharma, Insurance, Airlines, etc.) have some allotted time to have fun. Fun includes games like Dumb charade, Treasure hunt, Pictionary, etc. Apart from general fun Friday-games, we have birthdays occurring every now and then, cake cutting is a must then. Mu Sigma premiere league (MPL), Mu-Talk, kaun banega Entreprenuer? fashion show, stand up comedy, table tennis, carrom, gym, white paper contest, Quiz, etc. are other notable events occurring every now and then. Sometimes it looks like we are back to college.

• Recruitment

With Sequoia Capital investing $25m in the company and the amount of work coming in, the HR team of Mu Sigma is living a tree cutter's life. 100s are recruited every month. IITs, NITs, BITs,  VITs and all the brainy colleges are targeted and what are they giving? Its meager 3.3 lakhs per annum (3.3 is not so less actually). If salary is taken into consideration then probably many will think Mu Sigma is not a place you should look for. But I would say that the amount training they give and the amount of experience you will gatherer in just a few months will help you to catapult yourself to a better position than what you are thinking now. I remember the day Mu Sigma  came to my college to recruit us, I was already recruited by Cognizant. The day started with a very haphazard manner, giving aptitude test which consisted of logical reasoning, picture puzzle, elementary maths, little English, etc. I was always confidence of my apti but the thing I feared was my technical knowledge, but fortunately there was no technical questions in the test neither in the interview. With over 110 students sitting in the test I was sure I would be called for the GD. The inevitable came sooner than expected, within 2 hours of test I came under prepared running with tie in my hand and tying the knot on the way. We were divided in 4 groups, each were given a topic based on the current situations of India or society. I had to speak on "Kolkata metro vs Delhi metro", others were to speak on "Live in relationship", "India and 1st world countries", etc. I think in that short duration speaking 4-5 sentences is more than enough. Among 15 selected from GD 7 were finally selected  to join the company. From the questions they asked in the interview, I can say that they wanted to know how good we have a manager in us, How can we manage different situation? What will be our approach to a given business problem? In a given bad situation what will we do as team member or a manager? they also gave me few puzzles to solve, which fortunately I knew it beforehand, just had to use my grey cells to remember it on that moment.

Mu Sigma was always a different company the moment I heard about it. different kind of package for different years, one and half hour long pre-placement talk, distributing watches to recruited ones, inviting us to dinner party to have our doubts cleared in Kennelworth hotel (near Park Street) and now providing cab rides to employees after 9.30 PM, reimbursing dinner upto Rs.100 after 8.30 PM, Providing Rs.500 to every employee for a treat on completion of a project. Overall I feel satisfied in choosing Mu Sigma over Cognizant even though the latter was giving me an option to stay back home. I miss my home very much, miss my friends and my beloved ones. But I sincerely believe that in life If you want to gain something you need not lose something but you need to manage something. Life always demands you to work hard at some point of time, so why not as a fresher. I don't want to compromise with my life so a little sacrifice is welcome. Deep down I still have in me to work for myself and I will start some day soon. For my younger brothers and sister I would say that think and choose yourself, don't go with others suggestions (not even mine). It was my choice and my interest purely.
